Born and raised in Alexandria, Tarek has worked in the U.S. as a part-time web designer before launching his first company called WebArchitect. After a successful decade in this business, he launched Markade which focuses on marketing, advertising and branding. Eventually, he started Cactus which is an event management and on ground activation agency. Lastly formed KD Group which manages the operations of the three agencies and their clients which are local, regional and global. Last year, Tarek shook up the technology world by hosting two episodes of Techne Summit in Alexandria (October 2015 & May 2016). Techne Summit is a two-day international entrepreneurship technology event that acts as a platform including the main global players in the technology industry, namely: industry professionals as speakers, technology businesses, entrepreneurs and startups, investors, users and media representatives. In December 2016, Tarek announced the launch of Alexandria Angels, the first Alexandria based Angel Network. Consisting of a select group of founding members, all experienced in business and enthusiastic about entrepreneurship in Alexandria, the newly established network seeks to invest in promising, high-growth startups in Alexandria and the Nile delta region from mid next year onwards. The announcement came during the opening of Rise Up Summit, the leading entrepreneurship event in the Middle East and Africa. In February 2017, Tarek launched the first of its kind nation-wide roadshow to empower entrepreneurs all over Egypt Techne Drifts - Three drifts that are in the format of a road show which kick-started by Upper Egypt, as a one-day summits in three different cities Assiut, Sohag and Aswan. Then Delta in three other cities Mansoura, Zagazig and Tanta. The Canal Drift will soon follow on 15,16 March 2017 in Suez and Port-Said respectively. Tarek is passionate about helping young people.

  • As a former professional basketball player, Isabella has applied in business everything she has learned in sports. She first practiced her financial independence at 16, when she became an authorized insurance broker.     Isabella is also talented in the kitchen, so she designed from scratch the implementation and branding phase for the collections signed by Chef Sorin Bontea - "Taste of Home" and Chef Simona Pope - “Poftă de dulce” (“Sweet appetite”) developed by the Cooking by HEINNER brand. Under the aegis of HORIZON, she also developed two sub-brands: ACUSTICO and DIAMANT, the latter being the most recent and most acclaimed project, with sales exceeding any plans and expectations.
    In January 2019, she launched Thinkegic, her own strategic consulting structure in the branding and new business area, helping companies to organize, reset or create their brands and develop relationships with their audiences, to the benefit of all parties involved: business, consumers, and community.

    early 2000s.
    Founding editor of SCOPE, the literary and fine arts magazine of SIU School
    of Medicine, now in its 26th edition.
    Dr. Kohli graduated from SIU School of Medicine, Springfield, IL USA and completed
    residency training in Family Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center,
    Chicago, IL USA . Subsequently, he completed fellowship in Preventive Medicine at
    Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD and the Faculty Development fellowship at
    Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Il USA. He holds MPH in International Health and
    MBA in Medical Services Management from Johns Hopkins University.
    Dr. Kohli is a Fellow of HIMSS and is dually board certified. He is a Diplomate, Ameri-

What is Techne Summit ?

Techne Summit is an international multi-industry focused investment & entrepreneurship event, that aims to impact multiple sectors and stakeholders of the startup communities in the Mediterranean region through showcasing different technologies and their application in each industry.

The event kick-started in Alexandria, Egypt In 2015 and in 2019 has attracted more than 9000 attendees, 185 speakers, 450 startups, and 130 investors, all from more than 35 countries.
